Hi, as you can see from my sig I currently have 2x 512MB of GEiL Dual Channel:
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=5608&GroupID=0
(soon to be 4x 512MB as Ive just purchased some more, identical model)

Ive heard that running 4x 512MB sticks sometimes underclocks the memory to 333MHz instead of the standard 400MHz so I have a question:

If my RAM is automatically underclocked couldnt I just counteract this by overclocking my CPU to 3.4 which raises the FSB to 212 and also raises the memory voltage to 424 (this will probably be different if the mem is auto underclocked to 333 when I add to more sticks)

What do you think?

Some Intel mobos can run 200 Mhz (400 mhz ddr) w/ all 4 dimms occupied.

But even if yours does default the ram to 166 Mhz (333 Mhz ddr) couldn't you set DRAM parameters in your bios to MANUAL or EXPERT setting instead of AUTO, TURBO, SPD? ( Diff names in diff bioses).

After that is done just set it back to where it belongs & hit F10 to save it? Worth a shot anyways.
