Okay, now this is a possible purchase! Not a definite buy:laugh:

What I have is a Gateway P-7811FX running a P8400 Core2Duo, and I may be looking to upgrade to the P9500. Looking over the specs on the P8600, it probably wouldn't be worth the expense.

I am thinking of selling the P8400 or using the cpu as a partial trade toward a good P9500.

If any one has a P9500 available, let me know in this thread or PM me about a possible purchase/trade on the P8400

Before anyone makes a statement on this laptop, it will support the P9500 Core2Duo and some of the quad cores with the latest bios, which I have flashed to.

2.26 to 2.66 wouldnt really be that much of a performance increase. Id look into a mobile quad. (Btw i have the p8400 and it works fine with anything)

Well you have a point here PP! With the price difference, I suppose I really wouldn't see much if any gain.
Quad........Hmm, that may be an option, though I really don't do anything intense that would require a quad in the system.

As you stated, the P8400 is a hell of a chip, so maybe I am just better off sticking with it. Hell, it plays all the latest games perfect, with great frame rates, and seems to run fairly cool as well........Ah hell, I think I was just putting a feeler out more than anything.
