Not yet, this time they aint paying so they will have to wait! If with the BIOS mod I can get 830+ outta each of them, in XFire I reckon I can get top 5 HWbot without the mod, however, as it's a non reference design, with your contacts could you get me the soldering points in time? If I had them I would get it done sometime in the next few weeks.

It's a unique design on the Sonic so unlikely that it will be freely available on the web.

The last time they gave us the odd ones that didn't work to well. You can't really undo them.

There are rumors of just putting the traces for them all in one place.....

There's 2 different lengths--3 and 5 inches maybe? It's to account for larger cooling solutions.

Wow, really 800mhz without any mods whatsoever? That is defiantly impressive since my card would only do 700mhz without my pencil mod and I had to do the first of the 2 pencil mods to get mine at 800mhz. Is it because they allow higher voltage in the bios then other cards?

Also, very nice stock air coolers, they look like they provide great cooling. I thought the MSI's stock cooler was pretty nice too.

Do you think you see any benefits from the 1gb on both cards compared to the 512mb on most other cards?

No mods but I noticed the card was not running on BIOS max of 1.158v so I have just done a BIOS mod to that but it has made no difference so 810 is the best I am going to get but TBH, running in XFire is a bit dodgy with 2 voltmodded cards as you cannot control them independantly, for now I will try crossfire once my Bridges get here at 800 each and see how they perform, knowing me, after a couple of weeks of that I will get bored and voltmod them both, reckon these coolers can easily handle 1.4V which should hopefully bring 900 - 950mhz......but we will see.

As for the 1GB, benches and reviews show there is definatly a performance improvement, especially in high res at 19xx+, upto 10% in some games I think......you see little or nothing below 16xx and only 3-5% then.

Well you can change overclocking headroom in CCC by doing a BIOS mod, there is a specific entry on one of the pages in RBE that allows you to change the upper limits for memory and GPU, but the simplist way is to remove the overdrive tick to disable it in CCC and as I do, just use Rivatuner 2.20.

No thats fine and exactly the way it should be done, just my expereince with pencil mods is that in time the mod degrades and you get differences therefore in voltage between the 2 cards and therefore the subsiquent overclocking headroom so to me in the longer term it can be a little bit iffy, add to that the fact that in most apps you cannot see the individual temps in both GPU's, I would just rather do the hardmod, however, as I said, your method is spot on!

yea just plug them in. You should not take that big of a performace hit. Maybe a few hundered points.

Hardmod is hard.

If it degrades I can just pencil mod it when I start to see the problems right? But ya, the hardmod does seem ....easier....in the long run. I'll stick with the pencil mod though because that is what I know and love

Did you need to take the cooler of for the pencil mod? Plus mine are non reference cards and it can be hard to get the info for harmod/pencil mod on non reference cards.

I didn't need to, but the stock cooler isn't the best and a $30 aftermarket cooler can do the job needed to cool this card. And yes, i forgot about the non reference cards... It's hard to get the info, but it can be done.
