I need to get a basic system up as soon as possible. I am building this for a low income family out of my own pocket for the Holidays, so price has to be as low as humanly possible.

They need to be able to run dictation software because one of the children is disabled. I already bought a copy of Dragon, but it is a system hog (at least last time I used it).

    Everything is Found:
    E7200 donated by Bogmali :respect:
Corsair RAM, Seagate HDD, 775 Cooler, and 120mm fan via Paulieg :respect:
8600GT (dug out of storage )
    DVD-RW donated by CrAsHnBuRnXp :respect:
    Motherboard Purchased from CrAsHnBuRnXp! :respect:
PSU and Case purchased from TheLaughingMan :respect:
Windows 7 Home Premium donated by Stinger608 :respect:

Thank you for all the help guys! All the parts have been found and are either in my possession, in the mail, or will soon be shipped. I should have the build done by Friday the 23rd, in time to deliver before Christmas.

I will revive the thread with pictures of the computer the TPU Community built for this needy family.

Thanks again and enjoy the Holidays :toast:

Hey bro, do you think that the motherboard combo in my for sale thread would work?

    http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151345

If you think it would I could make you a smoking killer deal on it man! Just for you....$20 shipped my friend.

It has the 3.4ghz P4 (478) with hyper-threading, 2gb of DDR400 ram, and the aftermarket cooler.

As for anyone lurking the $20 shipped offer is ONLY, I REPEAT ONLY for Theonedub. :)

Also bro, you might want to check Paulieg's "pay it forward" sticky to see if there are items you need man.

tbh, i think buying new ram for just 24/7 are gonna be cheaper then buying overclocking sets that are used...

Thanks for the responses so far. Ive gotten a lot of PMs, so I apologize if I missed anyone's.

Please keep in mind this is a budget build that I am giving away to a needy family. It's Christmas time and my budget is already tight, so the cheaper I can find these parts the better.

    Thanks again guys :toast:

Paul may have me covered on RAM, fans, and HDD. Still looking for the other parts. MB w/ onboard video and sound is preferred.

Updated with what I have found, purchased, or has been donated. Of whats left the motherboard would be the item I would least like to have to go retail on. Let me know what you have or what you guys can find online.

Right now I am looking at the MSI G41M-P28 @ $50 from Amazon (Prime shipping). Would like to spend about $35 or less on it though.

Got the DVDRW drive delivered today and the CPU has shipped. Getting closer to crunch time

Ive got a good idea what case and PSU I will buy if it comes down to going retail, but I really want to get the motherboard here below MSRP. Older 775 gear is way too overpriced online :(

Let me know what you guys have and thanks again for all the parts, suggestions, and offers so far.

E7200 came in today, another big thanks to Bogmali for the donation!

Looking into a local lead on a 775 motherboard, but still keep the ideas coming. If someone sees a 775 DDR3 motherboard from an etailer cheap, drop me a PM or post it in the thread.

Case and PSU are pending and should be taken care of, but I will still hear offers in the event something falls through.

I do think that I will need an OS. I thought I had an additional unused copy, but I do not. If anyone can help me out with that, drop me a PM. Thanks!

Negotiated deal for case and PSU from TheLaughingMan :toast:

If anyone who has contributed to this build wants the Steam key to the latest Humble Bundle, drop me a PM :D

Still looking for an OS, although I am formulating a back up plan.

Win 7 is preferred, that way if they have issues I can walk them through it easier.

Still looking for OS. I suppose Vista wouldn't be a deal breaker either.

Humble Bundle Steam code is still available to anyone who has given me parts for this build :toast:
