Do you guys think this has merit?

Billionaire tech investor Paul Allen today sued nearly every major Internet company including Apple and Google, on the grounds that they violated e-commerce and social network patents held by a company he invested in heavily during the late 1990s.

dam one of thing he is suing for sound like . . . . . . pop ups, and the maybe you would like this crap, I mean based on those patents he should be suing everyone

seriously, this is annoying, everyone is doing this as of lately and this could be a big big case.

Some people just aren't happy with 2nd (or 37th) best. I just find this crazy...why the delay in suing for 10-15 years? Everyone now a days seems to be sue happy. No need to innovate when you can just litigate. But on the flip side of the arguement, it does appear that his patents may be valid. My question is how do you solve it now, this late in the game? The monetary damages could be enormous, if the patents were truly infringed upon.

Another example of why we need patent/copyright reform in this country. I'm not saying people don't deserve to get paid for their work but it's getting ridiculous.
