I know what you mean there. Do you have any plexi you can get ahold of? You can make one and also have the bonus of it being uv reactive. You can also get plexi cheap and in different colors. Hehe

If you weren't on the other side of country I would help you make one. I would need the board or a i/o shield as a template and cut you one out. Are you interested in the plexi ideal? If so I can see what I can dig up for you as I need a piece to make a fan bracket for another build I am doing.

Make a thread about it, this really isn't the thread for this. If this thread is to remain it is going to need to be kept on topic.

    Thanks. :toast:

Guys I am not sure if anything is left but I am building a pc for a friend who really has nothing. I am willing to spend some of my own money but I have limits. If anyone has anything cpu, mobo, ram let me know. It is a basic system for face book and email is all. When I say she has nothing I mean it. I am going to try and use a stock HP or Compaq tower and psu .

I may have an old gateway PC (I think it's Gateway- don't quote me yet) coming in with a socket 939 board (3500+ single core and Geforce 6100 or 6150 chipset) and windows xp MCE. I was just going to part it out and give away the parts but you're welcome to it if I get it.... should have in a week or two if all goes well.

Let me know if this helps.

*** EDIT does anyone have spare Ethernet cable?? I need to get one over from my router to my cruncher(s)- a 15' or 25' length should do fine ****

If you get an am3(+)/s775 based build going, PM me for some ram. I got a 2x1GB ddr3 g.skill kit as spare, from brandon(which thank you btw, they helped alot when needed). Also an ol school 7300GT if you get a board without integrated. May have to ask you to cover shipping.

Norton that will help , just the board ,cpu , and mem if any. Paying shipping for the whole thing would be crazy. If you take the board ,cpu and mem and put them in a flat rate box they will fit. Let me know when you have it.

and Jr if i get a set like that I may hit you up. Guys I will pay shipping when asked.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will check to see what I have for Ethernet cable sizes.

The stuff will be here. If I could help further I would.

    EDIT:

I wonder .... Would you be able to dig up a ddr3 s775 based board?

    I have a S478 P4 combo if Norton can't hook you up.

I have some cables, but nothing that long. If I did have a cable that long it would be a used cat 5 (not 5e), and it would be one pulled out from behind someone's desk. I do have a USB wireless adapter in my FS thread ;)

This system has a DDR board and 3GB of ram... I added a 2x1GB kit to it last year.

    Model- Gateway 4019E
    http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/1008907/1008907nv.shtml

It's a nice looking machine- will split shipping w/you if you want the whole thing :) (shipping would be from 06512)*

*** EDIT- If you're in Averill Park, NY... I normally go as far as Danbury on my daily routes so we may be able to figure something out ***
I should know by the end of next week if it's available... you will need a HDD as she won't let her business data out (HDD sucked anyways)

just a quick message to those that asked me for shipping quotes etc. Had a situation at work and i'm somewhat forced to carry the workload of another until a viable replacement for him is found. Won't be able to any shipping or getting package quotes, let alone visit the forums until i can get a bit of extra time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
