I have an old Western Digital 250gb that just doesn't seem to work. These problems are just with the drive hooked up, not booting from.. No matter what PC I put it in, it either
A: Gets into windows and then freezes(XP)
B: Gets to the Vista loading screen and goes black screen(Vista)
C: No post(just the drive in a computer with no other drive)
    I don't get it :banghead:

    Here's a pic...

I rma'd an asus board 3 times because I could load and use the OS on a DFI board. the ASUS wouldn't have any of it, would BSOD trying to load the OS disc.

I've tried it on an ASUS Geforce 6100, ASUS M3A78-T, ASUS M4A79T, MSI DKA790GX and Biostar 740g.. Does the same thing on all of them :(

No idea what that is, if it's a windows program, I can't get into windows with the drive plugged in. Even when the OS is on a different drive.

no UBCD is a dos bootable image you write to a CD for diagnostics.

Has all sorts of tools on it to fix HDD issues, Hyrens boot CD and Solaris utility are very similar.
    ShadowFold says thanks.

I'll try that UBCD thing and report back in a few.
