Hey guys, just got my XFX HD5970 in, and just test both crysis games with it and it performs slower than my HD5870 that i had before:banghead::banghead::banghead: and i was just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and can they be resolved. Im using the latest drivers from the AMD website and was thinking if they were causing the problem. Im gonna try the 9.10 and see if they even support the HD5970, any help at all guys I appreciate it, cheers:toast:

Try a bench to see if youre comparing to other scores and if it's just a crysis issue.
get a fan on that nb and get that cpu up to 4gz
plus unless youre playing at a higher res than the 5870 I don't think youre going to see much a gain

    and besides all that

did you use any driver cleaner programs

Probably a crossfire driver issue with Crysis. Turn off crossfire and see what happens.

Yeah I used driver cleaner and ccleaner, and I know 1920x1080 might not be the highest resolution but still I should expect a performance boost easily.

First of all, let me say that I have a copy of crysis sitting here that I spent $30 on, and it's still sitting here because it's bloated, and I just can't get myself to play it. LFD2 is a joy to play.

Anyways, you're looking at about a 10 FPS difference between one 5870 and two at 1920x1200 resolution and a very fast i7 processor.

And with Vsynch enabled, you'll pretty much have maxed out the maximum fps.

So this means you're going to have to go out and buy a second 5970!
