Photo editing software recomendations free and paid

I feeling adventurous . I've been using Photoshop forever so before I buy yet another version what do people use? Free or paid and why would be helpful

There is nothing but Photoshop as far as I'm concerned.

You can try GIMP, it's free... but doesn't really compare.

onone software has a decent pay for suite I mainly use photoshop and because work pays for it makes it nice

95% of things you can do in Photoshop CC, can be done in Gimp, but it is more easy in Photoshop; unfortunately for our money, Adobe Photoshop it is the undisputed leader in the last 10yrs, and will be another , at least 2yrs, the good part it is the standardization, all people work with psd, etc...I tried to switch to Gimp, all my work, well, after 3 months I come back to adobe, the time it is money...

GIMP is a bit clumsy. It may provide more stuff than Paint.NET but for day to day editing, Paint.NET is just more comfortable and fast. For me at least.

Paint.net is good with all plugins and stuff. I also like GIMP and MyPaint

I echo Paint.net. It's good for simple editing and everyday stuff. If you need more than that, GIMP would be the way to go. It's not as sleek as Photoshop but gets the job done. GIMP can use Photoshop brushes as well.
