hey i was just saying...plus we dont know how old this PSU is it may decay down alot seeing how its 80+ and has HFC i would say its not one of the old old cheapy FSP but cant ever be to sure

I agree... although i was told my 400watt would handle a GTS 450 guess what happened? Fried motherboard and a hard drive. (and of course the psu).

one thing i'd like to point out, yea it has 2 12v rails at 16A, but that's the absolute max that can come out of those rails... its a 350watt psu... 2x16A x 12v = 384watts, and that's not including w/e is drawing from the 3v and 5v. there's more than just looking at the rails. first you need to find out how much power is already being drawn and then figure out how many watts are left over for the 12v rail/s. Then divide that by 12 to get the available amps.

Think of it as a breaker in a house... you have your main breaker (400A for example) and then breakers for the lines. lets say you got 20lines all with 30A breakers. well the main switch only handles 400A so you wouldn't be able to run every line at full load

yea a lot of it really comes down to the quality of the PSU. some manufacturers under rate their PSUs to be on the safe side, while others lie and round up or w/e. (remember when all car amps were measured by "peak" watts? now everyone is going to RMS watts for measurement). So i guess the best thing would be to look and see who else has that PSU and what they're running.

The GT430 seems like a good one to go with, Performance will be a little lower than a 9600GT and so will the power draw.

http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=01G-P3-N981-TR
gts 450 costs 160$ in India..I hope I will get that card after 3 days..payment done..Thanks for all members & TPU forum...

we all told you this is take 125 w and 400w psu min...

we sed ECO 9800. witch 75 watt

430; http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=01G-P3-1432-LR&family=GeForce 400 Series Family&sw=

and ; 9800GT only a DX10 card and the GT430 a DX11 card
DX11 probably won't make a difference to you prob

anyway wish is all be good, your new card a tad bit faster then 430.

Again, 400w is a recommendation not a set in stone requirement. And a GTS450 uses 94w, not 125w.

we sed ECO 9800. witch 75 watt

And we told you, it isn't 75w, it is 80w+. In fact it is probably closer to 90w than you would think.

More like 50% faster than the 430, the GT430 is a POS for gaming. It is way to weak to even use DX11 anyway.

In fact the GT430 is weaker than a GT240, or even a 9600GT.

How about the 5750 from the red camp? It is still great in price /performance ratio and pulls watts less then the GTS 450.

Or maybe the 5670 is a good choice if you do light gaming. Current games also playable with this at lower resolutions.(No extra connectors needed).

Oh well, i forgot about the TOPIC.. GTS 450 the one i think you should go for from Nvidia :)

5750 no go! with is PSU but maybe an 5670 or even 5570 will work fine
Question is why nvidia only?
Idk but i guess a 5670 would be as fast if not faster then GTX430?

I know, but have you noticed how people keep recommending GPUs after you already said you got one? :)
