i'm building my first mod case, and i need a power button. i took the one from the doner case, but it's just a dinky little and i mean little square button. can i just go with a basic togel switch or any push button switch from an auto parts store or radio shack? what have yall used in your moded cases?

Any momentary on switch will do for an ATX setup. Take your pick, there's plenty around. I personally usually use momentary on keylocks.
