I think it's an interesting challenge figuring out how to make a system slow enough. But Powercolor said I can't participate :(

Aw, that's a letdown. What I'm using now is the best rig I've ever owned and it probably warrants being given a pity rig, but it's not about having a rig that needs to be pimped at all...

And one of those people should be W1zz, IMO.
But I do understand that it would look kind of shady if he won, even legitimately, since his site is sponsoring the contest.

I felt rather proud when I dragged my old system out and scored 613... But I can see this will obviously require alot more.

I wonder if Windows 95 will run 3Dmark2003 and how low of a score a Pentium II 266 Hz gets at stock.

Well after defragging at the same time and changing the priority to low I shaved around 80 points extra off. Might take a stick of the RAM out see if it help a little next attempt. Anyone got any major point dropping strategics?

What if running 3dmark03 destroys my PC? My space age rig can't even run Counter Strike 1.0 and half life 1 :C

Well there is always the 2nd unknown test to look foward too.

Btw when they say that they will combine the scores at the end, they mean the 3dmarks or the fps from 3dmark2003 in round 1?

I would have preferred if the contest was to take the oldest hardware and make it look the coolest. Like a custom water cooling loop with loads of LEDs for a K6 or something like that.

    Valid result?

First of all, I want to say hi to everyone! :)

I just want to know if this result is valid, with "Driver status Not FM Approved":

i thought it should involve pictures showing busted hardware/video proof that you have old crap hardware and maybe do a ladder round.

the people who will win have more time and money then i have...must be nice

good luck to all who can though and congrats

I bet some one with a i7 ivy and a 580 will win. Just like last year the person with the moat time and hardware will win. The title of this contest is missleading as a fast moded system will win again. So no real point in joining.

    My sentiments, exactly.

I wasted far too much time and money last year.

But, I wish everyone who participates this year the best of luck... you will definitely need it.
