Fan control problems on a Gigabyte HD4670

    Hello,

I just got a Gigabyte HD4670 (512MB, Hynix), and unfortunatly the fan runs on full speed all the time and (with Catalyst 9.5 drivers for Linux) it doesn't seem to respond to a "sudo aticonfig --pplib-cmd "set fanspeed 0 x" either.

Would it be possible that reflashing with a bios from a similar card from another vendor would fix the problem (and any tips on what cards that would be)? I have access to additional graphics cards to flash it back to the original if it fails.

Any other ideas on how to fix it?

    Thanks.
