PRD. Post Rig Depression. Have any of you guys ever gotten it? I'm to a point where I've built a pretty decent gaming rig and I'm like "Now what?!". It plays everything at max settings and run Photoshop (pays bills) like a champ. What do I do now? The excitement is gone.

Kei, stinger608, digibucc and 2 others say thanks.

WAtch out, i have seen PDD cause a lot of other problems, one of the biggest is bi polar disorder

PDD is usually accompanied by bi-polar disorder,

IE: Bi-polar = The inability to settle on a specific type (ati vs nvidia) of video card. Or even more serious, AMD vs Intel.

Symptoms usually include manic episodes triggered by reviews from both card makers. Other symptoms are the buying of both types and spending late nights sneaking in benchmarks for the opposite technology thats in your system and not admitting it to anyone,

but watch out that bi-polar can manifest itself in PDD and the result is a completely new system that uses components that are totally from the other hardware camp.

the only known cure is an intervention and then a 2 month stay at a MAC sponsored rehab program where you arr brainwashed to believe that MAC is the only true system build,.

I'm immune to Macs! I've used them for 15 years. BEFORE they were popular! PRD sucks. Is there no cure?

I'm with System.. just a constant flow of stuff.. Mailman, I suggest you make another computer, one that if it dies, you won't be unable to pay the bills.. Then play the swap game with fellow TPU'ers.. I gotta say, you can find a lot of people here that have just swapped parts to try out and done it via trading upright with fellow tpu'ers.

As for PRD... Yeah, I had that.. Traded my 295... now back on the red side with crossfire 5870's.. just to wait for nvidia.. yep.. wait.. and wait.. and a side of .... More wait..

Yep. I have that all the time.

I discovered that it isn't quite the need for a new rig, but simply the need to tinker with stuff. I was considering selling off my Q9650 and building a Core i7 860 based system, but I simply went back to tinkering with 2nd hand stuff. Currently torturing a Core 2 Extreme X6800 I got for 75$ two weeks ago. Once this gets old, I'll pick up some 2nd hand stuff that's fun to tinker with and so on.

Keeps me sane, occupied, and my bank account safer.

Be a system builder. Build expensive PCs, play with them for a couple of days before delivering to your clients.

There are three ways of finding clients: advertising, advertising, and advertising.

try it where i used to live.

People thought the case was the CPU, the CPU was made by microsoft, and that office was windows - "i'm running windows 97". That was the 'educated' ones.

In Miami everyone is a system builder if they know how to plug one in. Just ask Chicken Patty. He knows WTF I mean.
