Got it day of release in the UK. Have to say its much better than the demo.

Sat and named the teams correctly and did some of the kits myself like hull city has the right kit but no stripes.

Any way well worth the money i paid for it.

Champions league, home and away matches, full CL theme and intro video. Has a reccomended teams button for quick set up. CL has a different bar at the top similar to the one you see when watching CL on the TV.

I noticed corners feel much more fluid and realistic.
Dribbling is now different for each player soem have light touches nad soem have heavy touches on the ball.

Graphically younotice the small tweaks over 2008, the new weather system and the atmosphere feel better, player models are improved better tetures and the like.

Passing is supreme, physics is tweaked for more realism. You can actualy feel the difference from a light pass and a heavy pass.

Become a legend is hard, you start in a made up team and then get picked from a low team like Hull City and then play training and if you impress youget pick for a match.

Customisation is improved, now you can have 4 layers when customising kits, for example put stripes and then put something over the stripes. Much more options over the last game.

Still no licensed Germany and this time around no German teams have been added.

Im hoping for downloadable content to add maybe another few teams like Bayern or even Werder Bremen.

Overall it is a much better game than last year overtime you start to notice how much better a game it is than 2008, at first you will feel it is similar but the tweaks stand out over time.

yeah i noticed when you start a season or a master league you can freeze the teams player list i suppose this is incase they update the teams and you dont want teams to change randomly during the season

i dunno online has allways been bad in football games but at least in fifa its playable

fifa tho its just crap shooting in the mini game with dinho was fun but in game it was shitty, passing felt like you where kicking a brick to team mates and graphicaly on a standard tv pro evo wins hand down

fifa i actually think has not changed much if not got more boring

compared to the demo pro has just all the features and less bugs the game feels better due to having all the effects but its more or less the same as the demo but expanded

the Champions League just makes the game better it even has its theme and a short intro video of cool CL moments

good sites for modding/community - PESFAN, EVOWEB, NEOSEEKER, SOCCERGAMING FORUMS have been a member of all of these for years.......Still think FIFA 09 on 360/PS3 is by far the best and most realistic football game this year, and thats coming from a diehard Pesfan.

I have to disagree, don't get me wrong, I'll be getting PES for the PC as I like the customisation and mods that can be applied to the game. However as far as an in depth, compelling, challenging game. FIFA 09 wins hands down this year.

Its time for PES to get itself a new engine. The goalkeepers are a joke and parry most shots, dribbling with auto feints included is rudimentary and players animation (some of it) looks distinctly last gen.

As i said, the series has entertained me for many years. Now, however, I wish Seabass would take out a couple of years and develop a new engine that the game deserves. It has certainly paid dividends for the new Fifa which, for any true football fan, is the most realistic footballing game ever released.

im a true football fan and while i realise that PES has many flaws PES is the most realistic apporoach to the game

seabass needs to tweak most of the bad features left in the new engine

it needs a face lift too it looks good by far but its no EURO 2008 style graphics

HELL EURO 2008 was the best football game this year better than FIFA better than PRO not just in terms of graphics but gameplay too
thats saying something seeing as FIFA is based off EURO 2008

EURO game was great even comparing the FIFA 2009 graphics to EURO you can see the difference

the textures on FIFA 2009 arnt that good just similar to 2008 if not the same the game just feels worse than FIFA 2008 overall

PES more or less might not have all the features or licenses but eventually it will get them all excluding FIFA cups ect PES has the best football just play it for a while like an hour do a champions league then play FIFA

Already have mate and I'm just not feeling it this year. Are you a member of PESFAN? If not, log on there and see the views of alot more PES stalwarts. Its an overall sense of dismay really that the series has drifted away from its roots.

thanks ,found a team badges and names patch for now ,i assume that no1 has finished a complete package with players in all the correct teams ,probably a time consuming job tbh.

pes 2009 may be far from perfect ,but compared to the PC version of Fifa 2009 its way way better imo.

As i don't own and tbh i have no wish to own a console Pes 2009 will have to do ,so i can only compare it to the Fifa 2009 demo on the PC ,i don't know why EA even bothered to release the new fifa on the PC ,rush/botch job ,i have Fifa 2007 and i think that is better than 09 !

LOL, he already made his decision. No need to try to change his mind because he doesn't agree with you. And, to further clarify most PESFan member agree with his opinion.

In any case here is a option file

Not if you want to take advantage of the modding. There is pretty decent modding community.

East mate, I appreciate your views but thats just not the case , the fact that the official FIFA 09 thread is one of the most popular threads on the site speaks volumes. Having been a member on that site since 2003, I have spoken to alot of the original PES players. Its a shame, but alot of them agree, PES just doesn't cut it when compared alongside FIFA 09 on 360/PS3 this year.

As for taking advantage of the modding for FIFA 09 on PC, you can dress it up all you like, its the PS2 version with shaded graphics and a Wii like control scheme if you utilize the mouse. Great for kiddies, not for players who prefer depth and substance to their games.

This is a partisan statement (getting so called opinions on PES from a FIFA forum). It's not as unanimous as you imply it to be which again shows a bit of bias on your part. Like the OP stated, PES 2009 has some things they could have done better. That's what the folks over a PESFan site also stated. This is why I said that his opinion is on par. Furthermore, with the updates on the way and possible patch for the online game play most who have expressed there concerns have either recanted their opinion or are holding out until these updates are released.

In any case there have been plenty of negative opinions of FIFA09 over at EA UK forum (specially with the PC version).

Sidenote:
It's never good to use peer pressure to get someone to change their opinion on any product or service. Don't post about what you "claim" to read/hear from others.

No, the particular thread I quoted was from a thread on the PESFAN site. Never said it was unanimous, I said"Alot of them agree", the fact that there are even mixed opinions about PES this year also says alot really. PC Fifa, I would not touch with a bargepole, FIFA 09 on the 360/PS3 is a class act.

I love PES for what it has given me over the years, I just feel it needs a total overhaul and it will be pointing in the right direction again, thats all. I have faith that Seabass can see this eventually, when that day comes, PES will be all the better for it :)

No, I didn't say you said it but are implying it. From what I've seen there are just as many people who have concerns with FIFA09 as they do with PES 2009. To focus on one and ignore the other isn't providing the whole picture. And, attempting to use peer pressure to persuade someone to change their opinion with so called hearsay is simply wrong. PES2009 is a great game and there are many who prefer it over FIFA09. Which is part of what the OP explained.

:) I never attempted to use peer pressure mate, whats up with you today? For starters, I actually posted different sites for modding PES to help him, then I stated MY OPINION. Nothing wrong with that. I appreciate his views and your views, why not appreciate some of mine?

The bases of your opinion is based on what you claimed someone else said. Using that to persuade or deflect the OP's opinion is what peer pressure is all about. It would be more tangible if he received feed back from those who actually play the game without bias. Not what you say you read/heard from someone else.
