If it is reproducable by stock settings each day, scrap the board, RMA it.

I think hes saying he s never using stock speeds or even defaulting back to them. Im with you on that though, run it at stock and see if it reoccurs.

I havent had a problem with my 970 mobo but like you say RMA or at least a phone call to Gigabyte support.

I couldnt add this to my last post

If i apply a stupid/excessive overclock on that board it shouts this at me.

Well it gives me option to load defaults, but i ussually dont click it.
Edit: When i click enter bios, its already on stock clock (3.5ghz) but i just exit the bios, so it boots with my overclock settings. Probably should have mentioned this earlier. but still, i dont get this error on every boot up.
Do you have boot failsafe, boot guard or something like that enabled? This is usually the case when the system tries to boot few times with these settings and fails, so it restores to the default settings to be able to boot. Then you apply the overclocked settings, the system starts up until it fails to boot again and you get the message again. try going back to 1.35V. What is your LLC set at?

My computer does this very occasionally. Most likely some HDD problem that is indeed more of a nuisance than a problem

So, came home today, hit the power button, and everything booted up perfectly, no errors or messages.. so that had to be my overclock. Atleast im happy that its probably not my mobo. So what might be the problem in my overclock? Voltage too low/high? Any advices?

I dont know about those '' boot failsafe etc '', but my LLC (Load line calibration) is set to auto.
And that picture, well it looks somewhat familiar, but its wasnt saying that it cant start because of overclocking, although it said something like " system cannot start with current settings ''.

put your voltage back to 1.35V if you said that was stable and try LLC to medium. Also is your turbo and APM disabled? Maybe it would be useful to post some screenshots of your bios settings

Thanks, i might try it at 1.35v. Well all the power saving features are off, but my turbo boost is set to 4.3ghz, same as my core clock, because if i disable it, then my pc does some kind of double boot up. I red on forums that its a thing with gigabyte mobos. So when i set my boost clock to be same as my core clock (4.3ghz) it boots up fine.

Try disabling boost and core unlock and enabling HPC to see if that fixes the double boot bug

if you feel the need to overclock that chip leave the volts alone.
just do the multiplier and clock speed.
the autovoltage will do the rest for you.

alternatively run AMD overdrive this will give you a good starting point to reset stuff in BIOS.

Dont adjust voltages upwards yet

Thanks, but my overclock seems stable, what should i change ? Because i quite like my cpu at this point, overclock gave me nice boost in bf4.

Do you shutdown Or Suspend Or Sleep?

I am betting you suspend or sleep the PC and then it doesn't like waking back up. Fairly common problem. Just completely shutdown instead, or look and see if there is an update bios for your board.

Look for a BIOS update. Make sure in BIOS your poweroff functions like you expect.

When i first was trying to oc my cpu, i didnt raise the voltage, and it gave me bsod in prime95.. so i think it really needs a bump in voltage. So you mean that increasing the voltage is my problem?

Put it all to stock and take it from there.

Have a god read through all the BIOS options, stuff gets hidden away.

Take the mu;tipier and speed up til its unstable
then put up the voltage if your temps will take it.
keep an eye on your temps when running P95

And before anything else read the overclocking guides that are specific to your cpu and mobo

type them in to Goooogle

All those settings are default. All i changed is multiplier, voltage, llc, and all the power saving features off. Actually im testing something right now, will see if that was teh cause. I figured out that there was a '' fast boot '' ticked in my win settings, so i red in google that this option might cause some problems with overclocks and stuff. so i disabled it now, applied my oc settings i was using, and for the 1st time it booted without message, so will see how it turns on tommorow. Had no idea that this fast boot was on by default.

Not sure if we are going in circles here.

Go to boot order in BIOS

HDD
USB
DVD

make sure you have no readable USB devices
Make sure theres no DVD of any description in the tray

REBOOT

Have you ever installed LINUX software or similar on a previous HDD ?

Still no specs listed. Post them or my interest will :banghead: faaaaaaade rapidly

AND DITCH YOUR FOOKING O/C at least for the time being
