@1080p I would go for the GTX770. To me that would be best bang for the buck.

@1440p the 780 would be the way to go as the frame buffer will hold you down longer.

This is all relative to which game you like to play as well. For example Far Cry 3, BF3/BF4 and Metro: last light will be much better on the 780. If you like to play Diablo 3, SWTOR, Deux Ex or Bioshock Infinite the 770 will hold you down just fine. This is all @1080p.

Was thinking about either one of these or a Coolermaster N200 as a little gaming/netflix box. If an H100i is run at the top, do you lose the optical drive?

well, from what i have seen, if u want 2x120 fans in the top, u lose the optical drive, so u need a usb, if u want that one, but why not just but a H80i in the back and call it a day?

I haven't used an optical drive for the last couple of years an I rarely miss it. Not having one makes things much more tidy and compact. On the rare occasion I need one, I use a spare PSU and a long SATA cable :laugh:

I've got a prodigy case with a pair of 240 rads in it, and a 120 hanging out the back (oo-err),you can fit a 240 on top, just above the mounting points and fit the fans underneath, so you can retain the drive bay.
I use an external for the games I bought on disk, and installing windows of course.
the maximum length for a PSU in the case without mods is 180mm, though I tried a 165mm modular in there and really struggled with cable routing.
Before I went water cooled I had to do a lot of messing around with an nh-d14 to get it to fit while having a 680 so close to it.
