My wife has a Vista machine that will need to be replaced in the future. She has a software program that she bought from a company that allowed her to make here own files that can be used on a machine that uses propitiatory cartridges.

Naturally the company that makes the machine did not appreciate that companies software and successfully sued that company and ran it out of business.

My wife uses this software almost daily. What are my options on keeping this software alive?

Cloning the drive in case of HDD failure? Can the program be migrated to a windows 7 machine?

    Any help would be appreciated.

If she has an installation CD (or whatever) you should be able to reinstall it on Win7

Do you still have the installation file, or did it immediately install during the download?

Thanks. She has the code to activate a new download and I can inject the DDL. Hopefully it works on a new machine.
