Is the same for XBOX 360 also ? and what difference would it make if I dont use a 1080p LCD TV and rather use 720p LCD TV ?

Yeah most games are actually rendered in 720p and than upscaled to 1080p. so if your using a 720p TV most of the time you wont really notice much aside from like mussels said some minor differences. the 360 renders all of there games in 1080p so no matter if the company designed it specifically for 720p it will still render as 1080p, to me it really depends on the game, i played batman AA on ps3, half on 720p and half on 1080p, and the only real difference to me was the text.

i do notice more jaggies with 720p.
