PSP stuff

I personally dont like the psp myself i dont own a ps3 and i dont like UMD video disks and i dont like the games either.

BUT

My 2 cousins each got a psp really my family used to ask me about tech stuff all the time now i get left out, hmmn they mighta asked me before to get a good indication of what was right for them but naw.

Anyhow i need to know what stuff can be done on a psp (programs that can run on them), what games are good and what accessories are great.

I know that cheat devices are easy to use i set onbe up for my friend and i know that you can get images to run on them but i dont want to ask them to do that.


Just out of curiosity can linux be run on a psp and im talking about a gui version not a command line version!

Well before you can do anything on the PSP, you'll need to install custom firmware. However, only PSPs version 3.1 or lower can install it directly and versions 3.51 and under needs some sort of hacked battery called Pandora's something. Any firmware versions over 3.51 can't install custom firmware. I'm not so much into the PSP scene anymore but I'm pretty sure 3.71 M33 is the latest custom firmware. Make sure your cousins do NOT update through the Sony updater or else their PSPs will most likely never be able to install custom.

With custom firmware, you can install homebrew applications like IRC, AIM/MSN/Yahoo/etc., games, and many other stuff.

Now if it has a higher update than 3.51 wait a while because they will have a crack for it, 3 months ago the coulnt hack as much as they can now

I dont know much about the homebrew of the psp, but isnt the new psp have a hardware block for 3rd party fireware?

Yeah i know you need to have certain firmwares to run homebrew i have a friend who just does it for cheat devices but usually donsnt bother as he prefers his PSP to be up to date.

okay sorry it is a 3.4 firmware its the old psp aswell not a new one

he has been running iso on it since he got it, for example he got disks with iso on it and a couple or 2gb memory sticks and a 4gb one

all i know is that some of the games work for example smackdown vs raw 2007 but for some reason on one psp pro evolution soccer 6 works and the other it dosnt strange even tho they are exactly the same

he has a disk with emulators on it and i think he has a few downgraders 2.6, 2.7 on it but i dont want to downgrade it at all


dunno but how does multiplayer work on the psp can you share one gme do you need both can you play multiplayer with 2 images of a game running
