Complete BS unless they try run the games at 1x1. I would believe superior than PS2/Xbox. But not the PS3/Xbox 360. Only time will tell.

My thoughts exactly. Obviously, it will run at a far lower res than a PS3 @ 1080p, but still, these claims seem to be to good to be true. Also, could you imagine playing a game like like God Of War III (that has AMAZING visuslas) on such a small screen? PS3 quality graphics would be wasted on an handheld.

i think what sony claim was true, its been 6 years since PS3 launch so it not far fetched, and you must remember PSP2 use LCD that have lower resolution than HDTV.

and btw PSP is already have hardware that capable to render a game like PS2 but on lower resolution

I don't think it will have enough memory to move the games onto it.

The PSP2 would require a MASSIVE amount of internal storage because GOWIII is 40GB alone

I did consider this (the age of the PS3 and new technology).

As powerful in what sense? Graphic rendering or games library?

    They are talking about Graphics.

As for a handheld, I'd rather buy a gaming laptop. IMHO, I think they are "handheld" enough to be used on the go.

Unless they've made the resolution smaller.

When you install a game to your PS3 hard drive, it compresses it to the size of a DVD. The PS3 has no real advantage over the 360 in terms of capacity, as the games are just uncompressed on Blu-Ray. So if the PSP2 had, say, 60GB capacity, it would do fine.

What six years already, 2006 is not six years ago. Damn how time flies.

Anyway, as mentioned before, whats the point in uber detailed graphics on a small screen? GOWIII on a handheld screen and you couldn't see jack.

Spend more on development of innovative, fun games that you can play for months and months to come, rather than shiny graphics nobody cares about.

I'd rather innovation such as the 3DS than this.

It seems like a large leap, but like said, the PS3 is far from new. I still doubt quit that powerful, maybe at a smaller resolution I suppose.

All current 3D tech poses health risks. Blindness is the main one. Our eyes weren't meant to have two seperate images beamed into each one at the same time.

There are mobile chips as powerful as the 7900gt equal the ps3 uses wouldn't be a huge stretch for one to be passive. As long as the lcd on the psp2 is 720p I could see it working. Next question otherOS and folding on the psp2?

^ Barely any games run at 1080p on both consoles. It's usualy 540p/620p upscaled to 720p. Tightass consoles :/.

iirc, GT5 is upscaled to 1080p, COD Black Ops sure as hell doesn't run at 1080 natively.

Cod runs at 540p upscaled to 720p on PS3, while it runs at 620p upscaled to 720p on Xbox 360. This is for Cod4/Cod5/Cod6/Cod 7.
