Do GFX cards still have problems with PSU's that use 6+2 pin cables? or was that just an issue with some of the older nvidia cards? (This question pertains to GFX cards needing 8 pin plugs.)

I must be out of the loop as I haven't heard of anybody having problems using the 6+2 pin cables on their 8 pin video cards.

i heard of issues some time ago. perhaps it isnt an issue or I might have misunderstood the original problem

it had somethign to do with the 6+2 plugs didnt supply the same amount of juice as the normal 8pin plugs.

You would think that the 6+2 pin supplies the same amount of power as an 8 pin since the only real difference between the two is that one has a 2 pin breakaway. The wiring should be the same.

I've never had any problems with a 6+2 connector. Always has supplied plently of juice for me.
    aharvey says thanks.
