    Hey guys ;D

recently my psu has been emitting a loud buzzing noise whenever i play a 3D game and its really worrying me incase it explodes or something :(

its an EZ cool 700W psu, it was cheap but its lasted me 2 years now i think. Should i be worried about the buzzing?
    Thanks :)

Would not take the chance, if PSU blows there is a good chance it could take the whole PC with t it and that would go down sweet at Christmas time lol.

Also take a look at the PC Power & Cooling PSU's as there very well made.

really to tell you the truth man, just go down to a local electronics store, pick yourself up a cheapy 450watt power supply (shouldnt run you more than $50) and use that to hold you over untill you can afford somthing better and just return the cheapy you bought ... make sure you check the stores return policy before you leave though.

Are you sure its your PSU? My GTX emits a high pitched squeal in high fps situations, such as loading movies.

    im sure its my psu

thats where the sound is coming from. but il check again.

    high FPS situations?
    explain this please?

i wasnt playing a graphically demanding game when it makes the noise.
    Overlord II

    il try Crysis. :)

High fps situations means when the game is produced super high frames per second, like in loading movies because they arent very graphically intensive. Mine also does it whilst folding.

Im not sure how demanding Overlord is so I couldnt say for sure.

my brand new ocz psu squeels too, but its very silent. the part thats emits the noise looks like it has been tightened with hot glue. but they could have used more. maybe its the age of you gluespot, deformed thru warmth...

the psu that blow in my rig did a humming noise under load like "aaaaaaaaaaaaa".
