If you are playing Dirt 2 you are getting the 5770 period. You be stuck in DX9 if you go for a non-DX11 card in Dirt 2.Im with ya on that one too , only dx11 game i play is alien vs predator and dirt2. I want power i dont really care for little eye candy u cant even notice.
and as i stated before iv used a 5770 on my mates machine with an e8500 and i didnt find it impressive , even tho it played games better than my 9800gt it just wasnt THAT much better.
If i was getting 40fps in crysis warhead with my 9800gt on gamer settings , what would the 275 be capable of ? doube that ?
And yes the 5770 should be able to play DX11 games, the whole point of DX11 is to render games more efficiently with slightly better quality than DX10.
Alien vs Predator should play just fine also.
If you really worry the 5770 can't perform well enough, these little cards overclocks like beasts. <= As long as you buy a reference card or a card with similar components you get software voltage control for OCing.
