But I only used the -gpu 0 and -gpu 1 switches. If I use -gpu 0 for my first card, all hell breaks loose. So I can only use -gpu 1 for my second card which works very nice. I know, weird as hell, but it is an athlon nforce system!
Oh and I'm getting almost 12k ppd at 80% cpu core usage, so looks like both cards are working!

C'mon nvidia owners! I'm not seeing many new entries into tpu team! When you go to bed at night your card can be folding. It's easy and is much lighter usage than games ect, won't hurt your card. Donate some gpu cycles!

Folding just got better on nvidia cards, cpu usage down to almost zero, increased ppd output, try the new 180.70 drivers (not the 180.60s!), on the front page: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
cpu will run close to idle! I'm getting 14k ppd now on main rig with cpu usage at almost 0%, another 5k+ on my 2nd rig. Fire those cards up ppl!

Yes, download the GPU2 client. It works for Nvidia & ATI. Your 4850 will be throttled with the current core, but that should change next month with the larger proteins and newer core.

So when gaming you should turn it off ? Even with my system spec's ?

You'll have to see, but the newest jobs are using quite a bit of shader power because they're quite complex, so gaming could become laggy. My gtx280 can run as hot as 80c on some, but it'll take it. So yes, if you want smooth gaming, just temp exit the client. Don't worry, it resumes right where it left off. I'm trying to show that this doesn't have to affect general enjoyment of your gaming rig, just use spare unused cycles, esp at night.

I like to pause work first, but now I use the console version and can only quit, and I have no problems. So quit or pause first, shouldn't matter.
Also recommend 180.xx series drivers, much easier on the cpu. 180.84 is now available for all oses: http://downloads.guru3d.com/GeForce-Forceware-180.84-Windows-Vista-64-bit-download-2140.html look above and you'll see versions for vista32, xp64,xp32 ect.

Abeta misfolding and aggregation is believed to be the cause of Alzheimer's Disease. Simulations, like Folding@home, are a natural way to understand this process. However, there are several key challenges for simulating the key step -- oligomerization. This work represents a new way to simulate Abeta oligomerization, with a key advance of being able to simulate experimentally relevant timescales and concentrations, using a novel method. We use this new method and the power provided by Folding@home donors to simulate oligomerization in all-atom detail. This has lead to specific predictions about the process, which we are now testing experimentally.

In many ways, this paper is the "tip of the iceberg" for the Folding@home activities in AD, with a lot more interesting results to come, especially in terms of experimental tests of our predictions and interesting new possibilities for new drugs and AD therapeutics. So, while we're excited that this result is now past peer review, we're even more excited for what's coming down the pipeline, waiting peer review. We'll keep you posted as more results become public, hopefully with some even bigger announcements in 2009.

UPDATE:
It was asked which clients participated. This work started several years ago and took some time to analyze and then publish. So, it ran exclusively on classic clients. For the follow up simulations, we are using a mixture of GPU, SMP, and classic clients. Due to the large number of classic clients, they allow us to calculations not possible on the other platforms. However, the raw speed (but smaller number) of the GPU and SMP clients allow us to get a good rough idea quickly, refining later with classic clients.
