okay, a friend of mine is wondering on his future build that he's piecing together that is intel based 775

he wants a pentiumD with an 800mhz fsb (i'm sorry, i am pretty ignorant about intel cpu terms and what not, i will post more info if this isn't enough, just tell me what to look for) to go in an cs c19-a sli socket 775mobo. the question is, if he puts in ddr2-4200 ram, that has the number 533 associated with it, (these are the sticks, the bottom pair, the samsung ones )

please let me know because i just don't know and want to help my buddy out!

*edit- more linkage info

*bump/im going to bed

is this the same thing as running the mem multiplier (what i call it, the ldt or htt, i can't remember) at 266 for ddr400 (ie ddr266:ddr400::ddr2-533:ddr2-800)

in other words, the 533 ddr2 will work, right?

That motherboard will handle DDR2 533 and 667.

LOL read the title above LOL

With a cpu that has a FSB of 800......it will be fine to use 533 or 667 DDR2.

That ecs board will allow you to set the memory speed wherever you want it or it will allow you to let the mb set it automatically at what it considers to be optimal.
