I'm getting a card tomorrow, but since there are soooo many options on the market I wanted to ask which one would be the best one in your opinion. The website I'm getting it on is going to be overclockers.co.uk, and tbh the small price difference between these different cards makes the choice even harder....

@fullinfusion just got the MSI Gaming card and it looks awesome.

The last several posts in the 290 thread are about it including a video of noise test, and it looks fantastic

I like the ASUS version but I would go with the WindForce R9 290 because I really like how it looks.
Seeing from your specs the info about the case: Novatech something.../Mesh PC something
Make sure to check if the card fits in your case and then choose.
    Card lengths and speeds:
Asus 287 mm Core Speed: 1000MHz - Memory Speed: 5040Mhz
Sapphire 305 mm Core Speed: 947MHz - Memory Speed: 5000Mhz
Powercolor 290 mm Core Speed: 1040MHz - Memory Speed: 5400Mhz
MSI 276 mm Core Speed: 977MHz (1007MHz in OC mode) - Memory Speed: 5000Mhz
Gigabyte 294 mm Core Speed: 1040MHz - Memory Speed: 5000Mhz

Sapphire Tri-X easily. MSI alone at second place.

    Wait a minute. You're not @Mussels]

I voted MSI gaming because it looks cool.
But now I read you're buying from OCUK, I say the Gigabyte, because it's the cheapest, but has the joint 1st highest core clock. Also the cooler is pretty ballin'
All of them are fine though, down to personal choice and willingness to spent money for that.

@Devon68 the case that I have may be cheap as hell, but it sure can fit any lengthy card

@RCoon think it was me who was the first with the avatar xD

Gotta go with the 'Rock on this one. XFX for the Warranty, ASUS for the quality.

Personally MSI 290 gamer twin froze iv. Zero coil whine and MSI have gone with higher end caps n such. Plus its clocked out at 1007mhz and just because I suggest this card is because I've owned xfx (you couldn't give me there GPU) Asus was OK.. Sapphire was nice but for offer all look and feel, over clocking this MSI is kicking it. I love it so much I have its twin coming in tomorrow.. Oh and the back plate looks sk amazing and the card is rock solid.. I'd give it a 9.8 if I did a review for tpu and sorry on my phone so bad grammar

Peeps from UK, has anyone heard anything about Novatech? They seem to have the biggest stock of all the etailers I've seen so far, which cause a bit of a concern, considering this all big craze with bitcoin mining...

Coin mining is nonexistant in the UK, our prices have stayed low. Novatech, Scan, CCLOnline, Ebuyer, OCUK, Amazon, Aria, Dabs are all good etailers to consider buying your GPU from. They will all have different cards at different prices.

My preference was the ASUS, but it was too long for my case and I wasn't going to give up a fan on my push/pull rad cooling so I went with the MSI 290 Gamer tf4 as it was shorter and fit perfectly.
It's an awesome card and I do recommend it :) Great cooling and low noise. :)

If the gigabye 290 is anything like their 7970, it can't overclock memory worth a crap and it has locked voltages. I have no idea if it does have these properties though.

Novatech is my favorite retailer, 2nd to none in customer support, as for the 290 I would go Windforce all the way, I am biased though, have owned 3 windforce cards, 2 Direct CU and 2 Twin Frozor, all good but only the one really shines for me as a complete cooling solution, of course I can't speak for the 290 version specifically.

More like UK prices are already high in the 1st place.

I never said it's cheap as hell, I haven't even seen it or been able to find it. I only implied you didn't mention the exact model so I was curious to see it.

    @Devon68 It's okay, I know it's crap, that's what I implied.

And btw, that's the quick pic of the insides:

And I think I did post some pics back in the 2012 in 'Your PC ATM', which haven't really changed much since...

Looking at the poll, it seems that the MSI's card wins, so I'll go with that one. Thanks guys! ;)

Voltage is unlocked up to 1.4V and memory does over 1500mhz with ease. The cooler is epic I mine Dogecoin over night and with the fans at 80% the cards stay bellow 70C°. 80% is pretty loud but at 60% they sound just fine.
