Hello,

I want to buy AMD Radeon 380 with 2GB, but I'm not sure if my Enermax Revolution X't 430W PSU will be sufficient for this card. What do you think about it?

Other platform components:
AMD A10-7850K + 2x 2400MHz RAM + 2 SSD (Crucial MX100 + M550) + 1 HDD (Seagate 7200.11)

I'll not OC my platform.

Cheers,

Should be fine. If your PSU is still fairly fresh. You're kinda cutting it close though. From what I've read, you've got 430W & 35A +12V, and what's recommended is 500W & 33A +12V. But that recommendation's not really verifiable at this point. Since nobody's ran a 380 long enough to know if that's good enough or not. So who really knows for sure?

Thanks, this PSU has 12 months, however during this time I used it with platform from my first post just without dedicated GPU (I used built-in A10-7850K GPU), so this PSU should be in good condition I think.

no Just no .... I would't trust that psu as far as I could kick it into the dumpster where it belongs
also your cpu is going to bottleneck a 380 so ....

Why not let it die a natural death, then buy a better one? Not enough anger taken out on inanimate objects to suit your tastes. What the hell did it do to you anyways?

Man...I thought I was a grumpy old bastard. You're making me look like Mother Teresa here. Do go on though. Highly entertaining as always.:D

Thanks, It looks like opinions are split. Yes, I know that CPU will be a bottleneck, but I need this kind of configuration (relative slow CPU + Tonga based GPU) for my in-house work.
