Radeon Bios Mod

Hi, im sure you'v all heard too much about the 9550, but im a n00b, so, bear with me

I want to flash it into being a 9600. i've checked with ati tool, and its stable at these speeds.
instead of flashing it with some random bios though, wouldn't it be safer to take my original bios, and change the card identity and core clock speeds?

or is there other differences in the bioses?
