As long as the card comes with awesomesauce shaders and 1337 tesselation, blinker fluid, a supercharger, shaving kit and money dispenser, Nvidia will be !1!!PWNED!!1! It's very possible the 6800 series will include all of these things and it cannot be invalidated until any official announcement by ATi. If and when ATi does announce this card and I am wrong, the only reason these features aren't on the card is due to failures by TSMC and the Nvidia TWIMTPB program.

We need real info, or at least some discussion on what we will actually see once the competition has released a card.

I'm hoping the 68xx range is next year and would think it would be really and just a refresh this year as i'm sure ATI are in no rush to make hotter chips sooner if they don't need too.

i'm pretty sure that name is just a code name for the chip, although wasn't it changed to northern islands as a group and therefore the high end will have a new name? still, they'll keep the radeon brand, maybe they'll change it when they get to the hd10000 series and don't want an extra 0.

HECATONCHEIRES is a code name for the ATI GPU. One of two coming out. Other one is called Northern Island. And this mean Sarcastic

This brings me to conclusion next ATI GPU may be based on many GPU cores in which they can turn off and on at will. Super first post explain s it better.

nvidia won't have a new card out unless it's just a refresh. But this is nvidia, so expect a gtx580 with 5% more performance than a gtx480 at the end of the year. AMD are releasing an entire new architecture, so expect it to blow away whatever nvidia has got.
