Its fine, 6xxx offers plenty of power already.

except if you have a 5870, 6970 isn't much of an upgrade, but some games are a bit tough at 1080p maxed out with it.

To be honest, I have not found anything (yet) that causes my 6970 to struggle and thats at 1920 x 1200, at your res you will be getting aaround a 15% improvement but I agree, that may not warrant the costs.

of course it does not. that's the point. that 15% could be a huge deal at the edge of playable FPS.

Fine with me as well. It will let me get more life out of my 6870 which handles everything great too.

Try Metro 2033 then, it gives my 6970 a workout. I guess I should try to OC it and see how much it helps.

I was hoping the new 7xxx series was coming out before BF3, i'm trying to help a friend by a card for that now. I am sure AMD would have sold a lot more cards then.

Can't sell what they don't have. Though the delay does make my earlier post a little more palpable.

I have Metro 2033 and it runs fine although I agree its a testing game but I do overclock to 960mhz so that no doubt helps.

Well I was hoping that they would be coming soon but I can wait. My 2x 4850's are still kicking fine. every game that i play is over 40+fps
