radeon9600pro trubble

Hi! my radeon9600pro has a big truble! i can´t use the 3dsettings if i do that the pc hanged up...
i can clock but not use the settings. i have 400mhz core and 380mhz memory but if i change the settings it is going down too 155mhz core and 167mhz memory and after a short time the cumputer is changing up w h y?? i have club3d radeon 9600pro 128mb if some one no why please help me !!! i have enougt cooling i have heatsink big one+articcoller3 for 9600pro cards and i have system cooler in a pci-slot nearest the card// Fredrik

Your memory is running too fast. Put memory back to stock speed of 300mhz and see if problems go away. Stock ATI spec for 9600 pro is 400 core and 300 (600) memory. Although some card makers run the memory slower @ 200 (400).

The fastest memory I've seen on 9600 Pro's is 3.3ns and 3.3ns ram is only rated to go 300mhz, anything faster is a bonus. Usually can clock 10% faster than rated speed but anything beyond 10% will cause memory timing errors.

i dont even mess with my timings, last time i did that i got lines going across my screen. but my specs for my 9600 pro are below. i can get the core up to 510, i use to get it up to just 500 with my stock heat sink but i got a ati silencer 2
