Explain, exactly, how it has any similarties to Borderlands. I can name 10 ways off the top of my head it doesn't:

1. Borderlands is cell-shaded; RAGE is not.
2. Borderlands is team-based (4 players); RAGE is not (there is a two-player co-op mode but it is missions based on the campaign--not the campaign).
3. Borderlands is on an undeveloped planet; RAGE is on Earth, ravaged by an asteroid.
4. Borderlands weapons are variables based on 4 basic categories with random settings based on level; RAGE does not have random stats for weapons as far as I can tell.
5. Borderlands is almost completely text based for communication; RAGE has more voice acting.
6. Borderlands uses Unreal Engine 3.0; RAGE uses a brand new iD Tech 5 engine.
7. Borderlands has no voice actors of notoriety; RAGE has John Goodman.
8. Borderlands has only one type of usable vehicle in the base game--four total if you include DLCs; RAGE has many.
9. Borderlands driving is painful on PC with the idiotic reliance of the mouse to steer instead of aimming the turret; doubtful RAGE is that silly.
10. Borderlands story is pathetic and not relatable; RAGE isn't and is.

That's what I gather just from watchering that 14 minute video. Once I actually play the game, the list is likely to grow much longer.

Just because it's not made in the same way doesn't mean that the two games aren't similar.

Because it is. RAGE is a hybrid of borderlands and Fallout, just made differently. Just look at it. Fallout and RAGE are almost exactly the same in the way the quests are given, talk to some guy.

Just in the way that Battlefield and MW are similar, but not.

Fallout and RAGE are similar, as I stated previously (to what degree I can't say until I play it). I see virtually no connection between Borderlands and RAGE. Please, provide specifics as I did.

are weapons in rage customizable like fallout? unique damage and stats? the similarities you listed GT arent necessarily ones that have an impact on gameplay. fallout3 is more similar to borderlands than rage, from what I have read so far.

From my perspective, it looks like an fps/action rpg, you get quests by talking to people, drive vehicles and shoot things. Borderlands does this, Dead island does this, and fallout does this (minus the driving). Either way, it looks entertaining, and I'll pick it up eventually.

Looks like a decent campaign to play through and John Goodmans voice
Still ive got other games to buy so hopefully later it drops in price like Deus Ex has.

Edit: the person doing the play through posted in the OP is rather annoying they dont just play through they talk constantly like an idiot, its cool to comment on the game but not everything like a rolling commentary.

Well, see sinyor. That's what i meant (really laughed , thanks :toast:)

I was going to do that kind of ... explanation but im just exhausted typing a lot of stuff on 10 different forums this week.

Admittingly - many people that have played the game have said Gearbox did a mediocre job on PC side of thing for Borderlands. I was on gbx forums cuz of DNF for a while , i know the borderlands guys also were complaining about countless bugs.

These are many of the other voice actors on Rage's release party: (2 pages)

Rage (John Goodman and Claudia Black(farscape, stargate) was not pictured here, but he did show up, dunno for claudia, she has a lesser role i believe cause RAGE is not mentioned on her website)

OMG, if they're all voice actors in the game, I think it might qualify as the most star-studded game ever. XD

Only Goodman is listed on IMDB.

They're definitely cooking something up ... Tim Willits broadly mentioned Claudia Black , but she has no any disclousures on her site.

I think that might be a slip or hint from willits ... it's probably embargo on all of those except goodman imo.

I have recognized some other sounds which is not Goodman but some other guy who was also in other games, the guy in the buggy when you ride it one of the trailers. That's a hollywood actor right there.

IMDB isn't exactly going to know more than we know at this point ... it's a game and it gets surprises unlike most movies.

Makes me think really funny what kind of guy will Snoop Dog be voicing lolz. Probably some arms dealer.

And second --- there is no reason for these people to come to a game release party for no reason or affiliation. Or maybe they have all been paid to come spread hype lol ?

I said it reminded me of borderlands, nothing you say will change that, because it is my opinion, and nothing more.

if it did not remind me of borderland I doubt I would have pre-ordered.

hope that 4870 x2 will be enough for maxed out at 1080p, because GTX 280 was not enough for Fallout New Vegas ...

Well, the video is no longer available, so no comment there.
The pictures (screenshots?) in the article look like 80s era post apocalyptic Sci-fi B-movie content.
That's not a bad thing, but speaking as someone who played Quake I and II, back in the day, I would have liked to see something a little more original.
