After buying two faulty Maxtor DiamondMax 10 SATA II drives I want to know if another manufacturer such as Western Digital will work reliably in RAID 0 alongside my Maxtor PowerMax 9 drive. Thanks for the help, I just don't trust Maxtor anymore unfortunately. :shadedshu

Edit: I'm thinking about getting this.

No body knows? Someone must have at least tried it. I'm guessing it will work but I want to be sure...

buying maxtor is just asking for trouble,
plus, raid arrays should be built with some brand/model drives to avoid problems caused by spec differances, you dont want sync problems becuase one drive is slightly slower then the other, my advice, either keep the maxtors you have and complement them with mode drives which are the same make/model, or just replace everything,

another note, from maxtor to hitachi, do you have some sort of deathwish or you just like losing data ?

It works fine, though fastest disk is slowed down by the slower one.

Thanks for the advice, its much appreciated. And I didn't think that Hitachi were too bad anymore, or is that me being mistaken? They seem to have good prices and speeds.
