RAID question.

    Hi.

    I know that some computers you could use an USB external hdd for a computer even without the internal hdd. But could you use a USB hub and do a RAID with 2 USB hdd ?

    As long as they get detected in Windows you should be able to RAID them fine in Disk Management.

    It doesn't work in Windows 7 most of the time, as Microsoft seems to have disabled it. I wouldn't suggest doing it through a hub though, if anything, do it via two separate ports, if Windows lets you.

    Windows won't if it's removable, but you can fake it into thinking removable drives are local.

    If doing raid in USB drives you would need a usb harddrive enclosure that supports raid.
