For gaming, stick with 2 x 2GB and stay away from 4 x 1GB. IF you were to do say 4 x 2GB for 8GB, than that would benefit you better in certain circumstances like for example heavy video & audio editing and so on but still limited to using DDR2-800 when all banks have ram in them.
