    hello everyone, it's me again.

sorry that i didn't offer too much information last time i post.

    here's the stuff.

I'm planning a complete new build that on X79 chipsets.

and i got crucial tactical tracer 1866 4*4GB already while it seems some problem with X79 chipsets.

the official says not compatible and some users say that only the LED doesn't work.

So I wonder if the memory modules can work on X79 chipsets? I mean just WORK.

    any information will be appreciated.

Yes, the LEDs do not work, and some have issues with those modules and stability. Personally, i think it might be an issues with tWCL, but I haven't had the chance to play with Crucial modules in quite some time, so have no chance to figure it out. Unfortunately, not al lboards ahve options to adjsut things like tWCL(Write CAS Latency).

X79 and Z77 use XMP v1.3, and to get guaranteed function, you need sticks with that v1.3 profile. Earlier-made sticks MAY work fine, but they may also require some manual adjustments to secondary timings for proper operation.

How do you get XMP v1.3?

I think that might of been my cousins issue.

If there is any chance your going to have problems and known compatibility issues exist, why would u even consider getting it?
You're just asking for trouble. There are tons of memory types out there, choose another one..

you should sell them and buy some sticks that work.
