Ok guys. I'm having an issue with my backup rig. Every few minutes the system freezes for just a few seconds, then resumes working as normal. I know the psu is good, tested with multimeter. Ram has been tested one stick at a time with memtest. Cpu is idling at 34c and mid 50's on full load. Mild overclock is stable at 3.0 ghz. Thoughts on what this could be?

    Here's the system:

    Gigabyte GA-G31MX motherboard
    E4600
    x850 XT
    2x1 Crucial Ballistix
    Cooler Master RP 500w PSU
    WD 160GB SATA
    Samsung SATA DVDRW

What do you do when it freezes? Games, web browsing or nothing or all of the above?

Just randomly when surfing or doing small tasks. No gaming on this rig.

I was hoping you would say games since that would point to your video card. But i haven't heard of anything like this happening when doing small tasks. It could be a few things, your overclock and/or RAM timings/frequency too high/tight, or may be bad HDD? Try lowering your clocks, check the HDD with checkdisk. Sorry i cant be of any more help.
