6/10 It still gets the job done though. There's a lot of room for overclocking.
thats all i have to say.
Still a very decent system
pretty good system all around 8/10
Good all-rounder. Not the best of components, but not the worst, either. 6.75/10.
I just wanted to get a re-vote on mine with the new hardware. lol
I'll give Wile E a 9/10 for his nice rig
I give you 8.5/10 dude. Very nice setup you have. Pretty flash, excellent performer I bet. Certainly blow mine away! This is where I sit back and prepare to be shat on.
EDIT: Oh crap, Hookey snuck in there wile I was typing, my rating directed at Wile E's rig.
2ND EDIT: I better do Hookey as well, can't have the poor sod missing out on MY opinion, lol. Ummmm, now I've set a benchmark I will have to think about this. But not too long or someone else will jump in and post before I finish editing (*get on with it you twat*) shuddup brain..... OK. 8,5/10 for you as well Hookey.
I won't go too hard on you! The athlon was good in its day, I had and 9800se also (unlocked i hope!) decent mobo and cooling so i'm going to give you 5.23 out of ten. you lost points for the pirated software!
Edit: I didn't dock any points for the cheap psu because the sound of it is probably punishment enough!
I'll give mcloughj a 9/10 for his nice rig and nice overclocking
Thanks, but I have to disagree, my mobo aint that good, in retrospect it was not a great choice but I knew diddly-squat about computers 5 years ago when I built this thing. That said it has been very stable all this time so I shouldn't complain. A bit harsh deducting points for pirated software!
I give you 8.6 because blue orbs are cool man.
EDIT: It happened again!! Noooo. fafa gets 6.5 from me because I'm prejudiced against P4. Sorry.
I suppose I can only give 4/10 for what I am sure is a nice tidy but ageing system without much graphics power or memory....sorry!
8.5 fom me Grandad.
Very nice clocks on that ram of yours too...
Steady with the Grandad! A very fair score....thanks!
Bah, I'm participating in one of....these...posts.
9 for Tats! (EDITED from 8 to 9, you can blame Wile for that)
Superb rig. 9/10 from me.
You ass lol! If you gave me a 9 then I'm gonna have to edit Tats up to a 9.
9 for Wile
I gave you the extra points for the killer cooling system. In fact, make that a 9.25/10
Well that .25 belongs to you cause you gave me the second opinion to go for it.
I can't make this damn card run hot. It's like a curse! Hehe
Fine fine, I'll stop my ATI hating. Rating edited.
Not 10 only because you're using onboard sound.
Magnificent rig! Good overclock. Great RAM and v-card. Makes me jealous...
Not bad. Good high-mid range system. 8/10. Bonus points for the sound card/speaker setup.
Ya, I'm such a loser about sound cards. I mean, while it's not superb, onboard HD is decent, does the trick. Buying a sound card to me is like a monitor, I just can't be arsed to care.
I need to be more tech head geeky, maybe enough exposure to Wile will help.
I like Panther's speakers, and clock speed on that chip.
8 for BP
^Decent system, post in case gallery 15/10
Just fyi, I was a loser about sound cards too (to the extent that in the last 15 years I've never had a sound card in my pc!) but you can't believe the difference it makes. Onboard sound might be fine if you have standard pc speakers but when I bought mine I had been on the verge of thinking they were really low quality or something. The satellite sound wasn't strong. I mean you can always put the volume up but then they'd be overwhelmed by the sub. No detail. Very muffled. I noticed this especially when I set up my card. Like you can't say that a peach is more delicious than an apple unless you actually taste the peach. Only once you taste it you would be conscious of what you had been missing all along!
I had played around with the settings of my soundmax onboard to no avail. But now, I've discovered that Oblivion runs in surround (thought my left speaker was going faulty till I realized that the 'fire' behind me was causing the crackling sound Also, when different people in games talk at the same time they are all hearable and you don't hear things like a crowd talking. And for music and general sound, my speakers were stabilized in that the sub no longer overpowers the satellites and you can't hear the tune, now I can up the volume as much as I want and the tune is still heard together with an awesome bass....
Tk I might someday get around to it. No scanner atm.
BP, I know what you mean, it's the same with gaming peripherals. People wouldn't believe how much a good mouse can offer you etc.
And it's worse in my case because I'm a musician as well. For years I've been working with mixers and mastering recordings. I just haven't ever bothered using my computer though; rather old school style studio hardware.
-2 for incomplete system spec
I'm a bit suprised this thread is still alive.
