Got to be a 10 too warup89, though why so you need two PSUs? Surely the 750w would be enough for the 3870x2 and the quad?

sweet rig you got warup89 9.5/10-10/10

mikek, nice rig also, maybe not top of the line, but a solid 8.5 like Solaris's rig

thx Solaris, I paid for that rating, but heck, for about $1700 I can't complain for what I got

Cheers BarbaricSoul, 10 for you. I'm thinking of binning the vanilla Assus P5K for a DFI Lanparty DK P35-T2RS. The P5K hits a wall at 425 FSB no matter what I try....

the Lanparty is a excellent board, definently won't hurt your system's performance.

Aye, my previous rig had a DFI CFX3200DR S939, got on well with it. Come to think of it, I've still got it and its for sale, LOL.

Ditto, and 9.5/10 for you sir, would have been a ten but for that Rosewill PSU. I see you have the DFI board I'm interested in, how are you getting on with it?

Good to know, cheers! And welcome to the world of wage slavery and tax robbery! I'll probably be shouted down for this, but go for a large single rail design rather than a multi-rail like that Corsair. There can't be that much difference in price between that and my PCP@C Silencer Quad 750w, and then you KNOW that you have enough power without having to bugger about balancing rails. I see from the ad on the front page that PCP&C are having a 40% off sale too....

Ah right, mind you my case doesn't have cable management either. I just stash the cables under my dvd writer, not pretty but they are well out of the way of the airflow so who cares, lol

Very, very good choice for a psu. As a point of reference, the same psu ran the rig in my specs with no problems whatsoever. I just bought the Antec TPQ 1000W because I got it for an excellent deal. Solid 9.5/10 with the Corsair psu. A new monitor would get you a 10.

@mike - also very solid. 9/10. A new monitor would get you a higher score as well.

@spud - 7.5/10 - Very well rounded, but a little dated. VERY nice CRT.

    7.5/10 for you gamester.

New monitor??? I only upgraded to this one 4 months ago and I'm delighted with it. My desk wouldn't take a bigger one without surgery, and anyway, 1440x900 is just about right for a single 3870 framerate wise. Crossfire wouldn't be worth it on my P35 board with its 16x4x config IMO.

rofl. so what, my 2.8ghz p4 I got today is faster than that nehalem processor at 2.66ghz from that other thread? you seem to totally disregard # of cores, # of instructions per core (C2D does 4... 4x1600MHz is 6400, netburst does 2, 2x3700MHz is 7400) but wait, yours is overclocked to hell and probably not even stable at that speed, lets take into account jr's 900MHz overclock... 4x2500 is 10000. That's not even taking into account that his processor is dual core and yours isn't...

    what do I win?
