    7.5/10 with 8800gs

O.K. monitor whores, I got my dad's old 17" CRT, 1280x1024 is very nice, espically since I can look at images that are 1024x768 and there's no scrolling :D

Nothing wrong with going crt, if your eyes can handle it. Are you sure that's the max res for it? Can it do 1600x1200?

8.25/10 Getting there. Bet you can't wait to be able to earn some cashola, eh? lol

Off topic: How is that I always end up rating you after you change something? lol

no 1280x1024 is the max res, 1600x1200 is for 19 inchers

My dad is buying a Dell for $400, 19" flatscreen, c2d E6550, 1gb DDR2 667 dual channed, w 160gb hard drives. Right now he has a 19", that's 1600x1200, since this monitor is kind of dark (doom 3 is very hard even on easy with this monitor, you can't see shit in the first place!), so maybe now that he is getting this 19" flatscreen, my mom is getting a 19" crt, maybe I can weasel the 19" he's using right now off of him...

On the other hand I am getting my $230 back finally, I already have $130 sitting here right now, we are getting two income tax rebate checks this year so when the second one rolls in I will be getting the other $100. And no I'm not spending it on a monitor :)

This ram is good. 34% overclock, yeah I had to loosen timings to 5-5-5-15-20 from 4-4-4-12-16 but to get DDR715 out of generic DDR533 is pretty good.

This is Crucial memory, but it isn't ballistix, tracer, or lanfest... it's just "Crucial DDR2 533 blah blah blah"

Is ballistix, tracer or lanfest better than stock Crucial?

    lol for sure

And I would say "stock" crucial would be the ballistix/tracer/lanfest since they are the ones with d9's, Crucial's common memory. This is like generic RAM. It's kind of like VALUE ram since it's on the bottom of Crucial's pile, but it isn't really valueRAM, it would be around the same level of common kingston or ocz ram for example. High end OCZ ram probably uses d9's, like the Reapers... :rockout: dunno much about kingston though

Love the case love the ram, but hate the fact the Maximus is being RMA'd. Once you get the RMA back it's a 10/10.

I've tried to talk him into overclocking but it's a no go. And he paid something like $430.

I got a bigger better monitor, 2.86GHz A64x2 is nothing to scoff at, one hell of an overclock on the RAM and GPU...

    A couple hints...
    1. I doubt your processor is running at 2.66MHz :nutkick: it's GHz
    2. You spelled idle wrong (idel)
