I just ordered $1900 worth of parts from NewEgg and everything but the case came today. The case is shipping from CA and won't be here till friday. I almost wish they wouldn't tease me with their ridiculously fast shipping since I can't do anything. Though when I built a system a couple months ago the EXACT same thing happened where all the parts shipped early from NJ and the case 2 days later, I ended up setting everything up on cardboard boxes lol. I'm not sure I want to do that again but it did work fine last time. I'm very impatient and just needed to vent. Should I go with cardboard again? ><

Yes, do the c-box thing. It will give you a heads-up on weather or not all the parts are good or not. Pluss give you time to RMA, or swap out any mistakes in compatability.

One good advantage in doing that is atleast you will know if youre gonna have any DOA stuff (hope not) and maybe get windows installed while youre at it. Its done all the time, just be careful not to let anything short. :D :toast:

You rock Nammy, beat me to the punch!

Whats a good thing to touch before handling parts to ground myself? I usually use the metal in my case. The power supply is metal, should I touch the outside of that before parts?

That wil work just turn Compy 'off' first. Also common to use water faucet if in same room. Static straps are the best thing to use though! Don't pre-build on carpeted floor, lino is best - no static.

an electrician once told me if you wet your fingertip and touch any electrical
outlet you will quickly find out if your grounded or not.
