I just played the beta at its horrible. Its fucking call of duty. Also snipers have a miniature sun attached to their rifles that turns on when they look through their scope even in subway tunnels!

First they they give choppers auto hover then they give players magic mortars, then they castrated the APCs by limiting them to a forced burst fire and making their shots inaccurate, then they add a 3-d spotting system that tracks targets and now we have sniper scopes with a constant glow(miniature sun).

    -> Sniper Glare demonstration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnzAapiT_sQ

I guess this is how dice is going to steal the player base from call of duty. Just hold everyones hand in every aspect of the game.

You should ask EA this. Why do you need to come here and ask how to cancel? Wasting your time it would seem.

If you wanted to rant you could have just started the 'BF3 rant' thread instead.

That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it...

What does it have to do with the title to this thread though? Were did you preorder from? You may want to read on the specific canceling policies from were you preordered your game, sometimes it's just as easy as clicking on a cancel order button, there's no need for unnecessary trolling...:shadedshu

It's called a flashlight. Or a laser sight if it's red.

I agree. If it's enough to make you start a thread on a forum about it, might as well cancel your order. If you don't like it, you don't like it. Nobody is going to make you like it. I don't understand what you're asking exactly?

Well, seeing how you didn't like the beta at all, I would cancel the pre-order if I were you, where did you pre-order from? Canceling it shouldn't be that hard, but different places have different policies, either way, you should get a full refund for your pre-order

Why would you have a flashlight on a sniper rifle ?

The glare from the scope is so intense it looks like a flash light. It does not have a flash light.

I knew that It was a rhetorical question :)

But you shouldn't have lens glare in a tunnel

Let me articulate: Is DICE going to fix this? or are they going to tell all the hardcore BF fans to go F themselves?
    MatTheCat and Jetster say thanks.

I watched that youtube video.... Is it yours? because you basically copied and pasted this:

    redman7771red17
First they they give choppers auto hover then they give players magic mortars and laser guiled missiles, then they castrated the tanks and APCs by limiting them to a forced burst fire, then they add a 3-d spotting system that tracks targets and now we have sniper scopes with a constant glow.

I guess this is how dice is going to steal the player base from call of duty. Just hold everyones hand in every aspect of the game.

Who knows, most likely, it's just a beta you know... either way, it seems like you have very strong feelings about this game, maybe you should stay away from it?

EDIT: Now you changed the thread title to "reasons to cancel"? Dude, is someone forcing you to purchase this game? Is the life of your loved ones in danger if you make the decision to cancel the pre-order?

Its no realistic but it does even the playing field for people that dont snip and dont camp, also there's probably an attachment called a glare reducer or some think.

That's just idiotic. It's like a sniper with a target flare attached to his head and a sign "SHOOT ME" next to him. Occasional lens flare of the scope would be a realistic option (when looking directly into the sniper or if you point flash light into him at close range). But this now is just plain ridiculous.

If they want to balance the snipers, this isn't the way to do it.

In order to balance things, DICE could just limit 'roles' to a certain percentage like in Red Orchestra, the glaring is stupid, but remember the crowds that complain/ed about snipers in first place, also stupid, imho.

A sniper should be poorly visible, and the fun is to find him and kill him. And the snipers' fun is to kill all the idiot Rambos that run in the open :)
    Jetster says thanks.

They could easily make a lens flare or a brief laser sight visibility when sniper is aiming at the target. Not this super powerful LED lamp on a rifle...

Well, that is upsetting to say the least since recon is what I play. Got a feeling that BF3 might just be the next Unreal 3, people will just keep playing on the previous game.

But don't marksman optics in real life have shades and powder-coating on the lenses to prevent this exact thing from happening? Even in the daylight?
