Introduction
Rebel Galaxy is the space swashbuckling brainchild of Double Damage, reminiscing of arcade space games like Freelancer, and is supported by an excellent Firefly-like soundtrack. Unlike most space arcade shooters, the game has no pitch movement, instead opting for travel along a single plane. The main game is set inside a couple of solar systems, although it does feature multiple maps, relatively large in size. Despite its similarities, it does a whole lot of things in a slightly different manner, from combat style all the way down to the way you travel. What you see is basically a new breed of space arcade gameplay, and very much feels like its own brand of shiny new original IP. Prepare yourself for broadside battles and inter-faction negotiations, along with a whole lot of lighting effects to blind you mid-mining.
