I've always used K-Lite codecs. They are simple and easy, just wish they packed them with VLC player.

I download the Basic, not 100% sure on Win7 compatibility.

Grab sharky's 007 codecs, I use them and don't have any issues.

NO NO NO use CCCP you will never have an issue playing ANYTHING again its 100x better than k-lite which i used to use till i found cccp, k-light sucks for anything with subs or hd.

trust as much anime as i watch i have tried all the available options and cccp works the best
It will automatically set it self up properly for vista/7 which is a big plus because most stuff still trys to setup using DX3D9 renderless which no longer works right in vist/7

If you haven't used sharky's codec I would recommend trying that. It has better support for 7 as well as full x64 support.

I have used both sharks and CCCP, but right now I am using Sharks because I saw it before CCCP. They are both good, its just personal preference. you can try both
