Okay guys, need your expert opinions. I want to upgrade from my 754 board to a 939 board to take advantage of my dual channel memory but I want to stick with an AGP configuration. I just recently bought my X850XT PE AGP card and don't want to part with it yet and I don't need the SLI options, I like gaming occassionally but don't want/need to go the SLI route. I would rather spend a little bit more for a top of the line overclocking extreme board from a top of the line manufacturer.

I also need to know which AMD CPU you would recommend for the overclocking ability, A64 x2 or A64?

Thanks in advance for you input.

your mobo options are quite limited.i`de go for the Asus A8N with the VIA K8T800Pro chipset.very good.
now for your cpu if you dont want to spend a lot i would suggest the 3700+ with the san diego core.best choice.

for socket 939 one of the best mobo is K8N Neo 2 Platinum(the rev.2) is with Nforce3 ultra chip
much better oc than the VIA chipset
    check all reviews :
    http://www.techpowerup.com/reviewdb/Motherboards/Socket 939/MSI K8N Neo 2
    http://www.amdboard.com/socket_939_boards.html

as for the cpu depend from your budget the cheapest&best is the 3000+ with Venice core you can oc from 1800 to 2500-3000 depend on cooling

    check here http://translate.google.com/transla...&prev=/search?q=KAB2E&start=10&hl=en&lr=&sa=N
    http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?h...&prev=/search?q=KAB2E&start=10&hl=en&lr=&sa=N

if you decide to buy this cpu be careful there are 2 version in market:
ADA3000DAA4BP this is the first max.temp.70 C and ADA3000DAA4BW also venice but they have fixed some bugs from the first but the max.temp.only 65C
already is hard to find the first one but you can go up to 3200+

    good luck:toast:

you know what I think? in my opinion, you should go with an ASRock 939Dual-SATA2. Pair that with ANY AGP card and a good processor, and you have an awesome system with amazing upgradability. Trust me, I have one, solid as a rock in my system. I paired this mobo with 3800+ and 9800 "pro", put it in my Thermaltake soprano, got VGA silencer and some RAMsinks, and my temps have never gotten above 34*C.
