Regarding PCI-E RAID Controller Card

I was thinking about getting a PCI-E RAID Controller Card and have my 2 OCZ Vertex 2 SSD's hooked up to it in a RAID 0 array. But would that boost my SSD's performance over than having them connected to my motherboard and using my onboard nVidia RAID controller like how I currently have them setup?

The specific PCI-E RAID Controller Card I've been thinking about is this one:

only if you got a high end controller with its own dedicated CPU and RAM.

the cheap ones are always slower than the decent integrated ones on your mobo.

edit to your edit: no, that one will not be any good. its no more than a software driven port multiplier card. they are terrible for RAID

edit 2: i looked into it and its a Jmicron controller. Jmicron are among the slowest controllers i've ever used for Sata/E-sata/RAID. i tried with the Jmicron on my board not long ago (which is also a PCI-E 1x design) and it was slower than a single drive.

the asus one again, is a low end card. not for performance.

look at stuff on PCI-E 4x or 8x connectors, as thats likely where the fast controllers will begin. they arent cheap (so you are better off sticking with your onboard for now, just use the main one and not any secondary controllers)

EDIT: So, the card wouldn't need internal inputs, just strictly a RAID controller that's PCI-E based and have my 2 OCZ Vertex 2 SSD's connected to my motherboard? Because I can't find any decent ones that have the internal inputs.

Yeah, last time I went with dedicated controllers was when I was building a couple VM servers. 8 drives on a $500 Adaptec controller.

Maybe grab another two Vertex 2's THEN look at high-end 4 port controllers
