Oh and one other thing, won't need the aftermarket heatsink either. I have clocked an Athlon II x4 and they run cool as a cucumber.
    joeyck says thanks.

    On a budget

My system right now is a budget system, and it plays about everything at that level.

What you do is buy the cheapest AMD quad, Cheapest motherboard, Cheap but lots of ram, then buy a bad-ass video card.

I think my system would cost 400 dollars with the HDD(but I already had one so 300).

difference is certain cpus unlock to 4 cores and full L3 cache examples the x2 555 is around x4 athlon II price territory and if unlocks clock for clock its faster but overall an x3 rana with 4gigs ram will push most gpus fairly well in single gpu configs

Yep, that's the chip I'm running, and I have been very happy with it. Very good for the money.

To tell the truth, it's one of the only chips I have ever owned that I didn't OC it. It crunches 24/7, and does everything I ask of it.

I should oc it, but I just haven't.

Wow thanks guy's I only got to read to theonedub post before my last posst and went to sleep and next morning we went shopping and we already got the parts and finished building it, my friend is amazed how a single GTX 460 outpaces his sli'd 8800gtx:nutkick:, and he got really lucky and was able to unlock his x3 440 to a full x4 945:rockout:

Here is a better build. Take out what you don't need and it will be WELL under 700 bucks.
