Is it possible to implement this function on the forum or, if its already available, can someone point it out to me?

If you go to the users Profile in the User List drop down there is "Add to Ignore List". Not sure that covers PM's or the whole forum in general.

How does the block user funtion work anyway? You don't see their posts? I've never figured out why people block others really.

Well, that's cool to know that we at least have the choice to do so. Seeing certain members' posts on here get old quick. But I myself never had a need to block anyone.....yet :p

    oh god preach it!

i only wish the block list removed it completely instead of saying "click here to view post" Id rather go through my day thinking some users dont exist.

As a mod I need to see all the posts, but I do block the posts from some guy named W1zzard.
Seems to post a lot of nonsense.

    INSTG8R and FordGT90Concept say thanks.

    Hi! I'm from the Internet
Now when you block someone do they get a little message saying you blocked them?

Most times actually yes....The member is so glad to find the option that they usually send a PM to the other member announcing they have added the other member to it as a final jab of trolling;)

But you are correct there isn't an automated message if you add a member to it.

Nope they can yammer on and on to you and you would never even know. I mean if they had a clue they might pick up on the fact that your not answering...

I dunno exactly how it works on this forum if an ignored user is quoted you may see that.

Sigh...I don't know why I am even mildly surprised by that...

Edit: I think I may actually end up using this afterall...
