    Hi

My resolution all of a sudden went wrong! I have 2x LG L204WS monitors, that run at 1680 x 1050 and have done for 2 years! I have a HD4870...

I haven't installed anything new or changed any settings, but when I turned on my computer today the resolution on one ONE monitor is too big (it's off the screen)... It hasn't changed in windows properties and CCC reports the correct resolution... However, I did notice that EDID information is incorrect (reporting max resolution of 1080). I tried turning EDID off and changing the settings, this didn't work.

If I unplug a monitor, the affected screen goes normal... plug it back in, it's messed up.

This did happen about a year ago and I can not remember how I solved it!

    Thanks

Is it a setting of the monitor itself, perhaps, rather than the driver/OS settings? You should be able to access the OSD of the monitor by one of it's physical buttons.

look in the windows update status and see if it happened to install the monitor manufacturers driver.
